Frequently asked questions
Are the answers accurate?
They're grounded in real transcripts and cite their sources, but two things can go wrong. Auto-generated captions mis-hear names and technical terms, and the AI can misread a passage or miss context that came earlier in the episode. Treat answers as a well-informed starting point, and use the citations to check anything that matters.
Why doesn't it know about a recent episode?
Each channel has a set of ingested episodes and a coverage window. New uploads aren't picked up automatically yet, so very recent episodes may be missing. The answer will tell you what window it covers.
Why did it say it couldn't find something I know was discussed?
Usually retrieval, not comprehension — the passage exists but the search didn't surface it. Try naming the guest or using words that would actually have been spoken in the conversation.
Where do the transcripts come from?
Publicly available caption tracks on YouTube — the same ones any viewer can turn on. We don't scrape paywalled, members-only or private content, and we don't republish full transcripts; answers quote only short excerpts.
Can I ask about anything, or only the topics listed?
Anything discussed on that channel. The floating words in the background are just a visual hint at a show's recurring themes, not a menu.
Can you add my favourite show?
Yes — request a channel. It needs to be on YouTube, mostly in English, and have captions available. Requests are reviewed regularly.
Is it free?
Yes. There's a light rate limit to keep costs sane, but there's no account and nothing to pay.
I'm a creator and I'd rather not be included.
